Doxie puppy BAXTER 

 

 

BAXTER is OOAK. He has been entirely designed and hand crafted by myself in a smoke free house. Many hours of patient work have gone into the conception and creation of this puppy.

 

MEASURES: 12 inches (about 30 cm) from nose tip to rear end.

MATERIALS: I have used a combination of black and tan Schulte alpaca fur. Inner ears and belly are made with ultra suede. Sheep wool for the stuffing, with an addition of enclosed glass granulate for added weight.

FEATURES: Baxter has a needle felted face. His eyes are of black German glass. His nose, paw pads and claws have been sculpted from Apoxie clay and layer painted, for a very realistic effect.
Extensive shading and scissor sculpting have been done to body and face, to bring out the typical dachshund puppy features.

JOINTING and POSING: Baxter’s body has been designed with no joints. All four limbs are a whole with the body. He has an internal padded wire frame that goes from head to back, and from there to all four legs. The tail is also wired. Thanks to these features Baxter can stand perfectly balanced on all fours, and can be also arranged in many different and realistic positions. His paws and feet can be delicately curved to give them a natural pose.

Baxter owns a felt collar, embroidered with red wooden beads and embellished with two little jingling bells. This ornament was also made by myself, and can be removed.

As with all my creations, Baxter comes to you with a specially embroidered felt birth certificate. 

BAXTER is a collector item not suitable for children. This creation is meant for display and not as a toy.
