Maine coon cat CIRCE

CIRCE is OOAK. She has been entirely designed and hand crafted by myself in a smoke free house. Many hours of patient work have gone into the conception and creation of this cat.

MEASURES: 17.5 inches (about 44 cm) from nose tip to rear end. The tail measures about 19.5 inches (50cm).

MATERIALS: high quality faux fur. Sheep wool for the stuffing, with an addition of enclosed glass granulate for added weight. Ultra suede for the inner ears, horse hair for the whiskers.

FEATURES: Circe has a lightweight polymer clay sculpted head on which fur bits have been firmly attached. The process of attaching, scissor sculpting and shading the fur is a very long one, and it requires patience, creativity and skill. The eyes are of transparent German glass that I hand painted in tones of green and gold. Paw pads have been sculpted from polymer clay and layer painted, for a very realistic effect.

Extensive shading has been done to body and face, to bring out the typical feline features and the striking tortoiseshell colours.

JOINTING and POSING: Circe’s body has been designed with no joints. All four limbs are a whole with the body. She has an internal padded wire frame that goes from head to back, and from there to all four legs. The tail is also wired.

Thanks to these features Circe can be arranged in many different and realistic positions. Her paws can be delicately curved to give them a natural pose.

Circe owns a felt mat and pillow, also hand sewn by myself.

As with all my creations, Circe comes to you with a specially embroidered felt birth certificate in matching style and materials. 

CIRCE is a collector item not suitable for children. This creation is meant for display and not as a toy.
