One Of A Kind realistic soft sculpture by Francesca Boretti
Welsh terrier COPERNICUS
COPERNICUS is OOAK. He has been entirely designed and hand crafted by myself in a smoke free house. Many hours of patient work have gone into the conception and creation of this dog.
MEASURES: 18.5 inches (about 47cm) from nose tip to rear end.
MATERIALS: Schulte and Helmbold mohair fur. Ultra suede for the inner ears. Sheep wool and polyester filling for the stuffing, with an addition of enclosed glass pebbles for added weight. German glass eyes.
FEATURES: Copernicus has a lightweight polymer clay sculpted head on which fur has been firmly attached. His paw pads have been sculpted from polymer clay and layer painted, for a very realistic effect. Claws are made with Apoxie clay. Oil shading has been done to body and face.
JOINTING and POSING: Copernicus’s body has been designed with no joints. All four limbs are a whole with the body. He has an internal padded wire frame that goes from head to back, and from there to all four legs. A thin double wire is inserted into the ears edge, so that they can be lifted or folded as wished. The tail is also wired.
Thanks to these features Copernicus can be arranged in many different and realistic positions. His paws can be delicately curved to give them a natural pose.
Copernicus owns a felt ball and an embroidered felt collar, also hand sewn by myself.
As with all my creations, Copernicus comes to you with a specially embroidered felt birth certificate made in matching style and materials.
COPERNICUS is a collector item not suitable for children. This creation is meant for display and not as a toy.
